Braylon Meade, a student-athlete from Washington-Liberty High School in Arlington, Virginia, died in an automobile accident on Friday in the Rock Spring area. Charges have been brought against another adolescent for their part in the fatal collision.

A car struck Braylon Meade as he was performing a U-turn, according to a statement from Arlington County police. Meade, a senior basketball and football player who is also a good student, played basketball and football.

At 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Arlington County police called them to report a two-car collision in the Rock Spring neighborhood’s Old Dominion Drive and Williamsburg Boulevard area. Police discovered Meade’s sedan and the other driver’s SUV at the scene. The suspect’s car was on fire and unguarded. Later, firefighters from the rescue operation put it out.

According to the police, Meade’s automobile was struck by another male juvenile driver who was traveling too fast on Old Dominion Drive as Meade was trying a U-turn.

The second motorist, who is accused of DUI and involuntary manslaughter, was allegedly intoxicated, according to the police. They were not immediately identified. Police stated that Meade was declared dead at the scene.

Tony Hall, the school’s principal, wrote in an email to the neighborhood, “Braylon was a cherished member of the Washington-Liberty family, and over the years, he had a profound impact on the lives of many of our students and staff members.”

“Braylon was a scholar-athlete who participated in basketball and football for our school.” His loss affects all of us terribly”. Students at Washington-Liberty will have access to counseling services when classes start on Monday.

A candlelight memorial for Braylon has been planned for Sunday at Washington-Liberty High School at 5 o’clock. Since the event, many school community members have posted memorials to Meade on social media.
