Charles E. Van Cor, Sr.
January 21, 1943 – November 1, 2022
Wilder, VT – Charles passed away very suddenly on Nov 1st with his loving wife of 56 years, Linda, by his side. He was 79 Years old.
Charles was the son of Eugene F. and Lutie (Cota) Van Cor. He attended The St. Johnsbury Trade School before joining the US Army. After his service, he went to Vermont Technical College where he received his Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Charles went on to be a manager for GW Plastics, Central Maloney, and Waterbury Plastics. He finished his working life at Advance Transit as a well-liked and respected bus driver.
Charles met the love of his life, Linda Lagro, and they were married in 1966. They had two sons, Charles Jr. and Mark Van Cor. As a young family, they moved around the country. They lived in Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Vermont.
Charles was a member of the Freemasons. He enjoyed hunting, snow machining, kayaking, grilling, playing cards, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Van Cor; son, Mark, and his wife, Christine Van Cor; daughter-in-law, Stacey Van Cor; grandchildren, Charles III and Johnathan Van Cor; sister-in-law, Karen Lagro; and brother-in-law, Henry Lagro, and his wife, Sharlene.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, Eugene Van Cor and Lutie Hinds; brothers, Fred, Brian, Henry, and Don Atherton; son, Charles Van Cor, Jr.; in-laws, Clyde and Evelyn Lagro; and sister-in-law, Wendy Lagro.
There will be no calling hours or funeral. There will be a small graveside service at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hartford, VT Fire Department or Shiners Hospital for Children.
