October 9, 1942 – November 4, 2022
Lebanon, NH – Kathleen “Kathy” A. Whitney, 80, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022, at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon. She was born in Hanover to the late Herman & Florence (Neily) Levesque. She graduated from Lebanon High School, class of 1960. On January 5, 1963, she married James H. Whitney and celebrated 48 years together until Jim’s passing in June 2011. Over the years, Kathy worked for several businesses in the Upper Valley including secretarial positions at WTSL and Lebanon Graphics, and as a bank teller at Mascoma Savings Bank. Nominated by her boss at WTSL, Kathy was crowned the Lebanon Bicentennial Queen in 1961. She was a past member of the Emblem Club and in her early years of marriage enjoyed several nights out with her husband, sisters, and friends at the Lebanon Elks. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower beds, playing bingo, and taking an occasional trip to the casinos. Most of all, she enjoyed time with her family, making holidays and events special with her home-style cooking, and doting over her grandsons.
She leaves behind her two children, a daughter Kelly Koloski and a son Jamie Whitney, a sister Christine Anderson, two grandchildren Christopher Koloski and Justin Koloski and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband James H. Whitney in 2011, a sister Joyce Robert in 2012, a beloved brother-in-law Dave Anderson in 2006, and a dear niece Suzanne Grobe in 2022.
