Norman Dennis Perry
March 13, 1967 – October 18, 2022
Norman Dennis Perry was born in Claremont, NH on March 13, 1967 and passed away on October 18, 2022 at his home in Canaan, NH at the age of 55.
Norman grew up in Claremont, NH and Woodstock, VT with his mother, Murielle Fowler, his six brothers, Russell Perry, Phillip Perry, Lewis Perry, Daniel McLellan, Peter Hall, and his sister, Katherine (Kate) Rochon. He is survived by his children, Ronald Perry, Misty Perry, Gage Perry and his grandchildren, Mackenzie Perry, Emma-lynn Perry, Madilynn Childers, and Hannah Perry.
Known to many that loved him as Stormin’ Normin and described by his daughter as a character, Norman had a personality that was larger than life and enjoyed by many. His kindness and generosity has touched the lives of so many that have crossed his path that his legacy will live on through their stories of him. Although his personality was larger than life, he was at his core a simple man who only needed and wanted very little.
Norman’s passion of working with cars started from the moment he could hold a wrench and get behind the wheel (even when technically he wasn’t old enough for that one) and the joy of working with cars turned into a dream. He put his roots down in Canaan, NH opening up Norman Perry’s garage and seeing his life’s goal come to fruition. For Norman, working for himself was never about how much he could make, but how much he could do for others, never charging what he was truly worth. The connections and relationships he gained over his many years in business was worth far more to Norman than any monetary value his garage brought him. He was honest, reliable, and affordable for his customers and that is something he always strived to be.
Norman though, was more than just a mechanic, he was also a Father, Son, Pep Pep, and Brother to many and friend to more. The countless stories being told of Norman’s generosity will forever be treasured by his family. To his children he was a silly gift giver, life fixer, rock, and guiding light. To his grandchildren he was their Step Pep, their Pepe, the man who made them laugh with his silly faces and funny one-liners. To his mother he was all the best parts of her, the gift of her life that she didn’t get to keep long enough. To his siblings he was their quirky brother, best friend, an ear to bend, a protector. To his friends, the best man they ever had the pleasure of knowing, a jokester, a partner in mischief, and a confidant.
Norman was known to collect the most random of things, give silly nicknames, make his own lyrics to songs, wear the heck out of a top hat / cut off sleeves, rock the best mullet around, and tell the funniest (and equally as stupid) jokes. He would grow out his hair to donate to locks of love, tell people to just donate to Toys for Tots instead of giving him money he was owed. You could have been a stranger to him and he would still give you a meal from his home, a shirt off his back, and the shoes off his feet. The least judgmental man you could have ever known.
“His Absence is like the sky, spread over everything.” – C.S Lewis
